POSITION: Immediate Full-time opening for a Dental Hygienist in Prestonsburg, KY; Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center.
EXPERIENCE: Must have formal training as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited school or from a licensed Dentist through on the job training; have a State Dental Hygienist Certification, which meets Kentucky certification requirements; this is a part-time job; must have High School Diploma or GED.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Extremely competitive salary, annual performance raise.
Dental Hygienist Scope of Work
■ Provide a twelve (12) hours of on-site dental hygienist services per week for 48 weeks per year (excludes 2 weeks for summer break and 2 weeks for Christmas holiday period). Work schedule will include (8) hours on Wednesday and (4) hours on Friday of each week. Unexpected and infrequent changes to the on-Center schedule may be made without consequence or need for amendment to this contract, as long as total hours are met each week. Frequent or extensive changes to the agreed upon schedule will be unacceptable. On-site dental hygienist services shall not be required during weekends, during CENTER holidays, or during the break periods
■ Perform preliminary oral examination; take bitewing and periodical X-Rays;
■ Perform prophies, scale and root plane;
■ Oral hygiene instructions including chair-side counseling on brushing, flossing and nutrition;
■ Education on hazards and risks of smokeless tobacco;
■ Process own instruments and tray set-ups;
■ Chart documentation (existing restorations, missing teeth, lesions), and;
■ Classifying occlusion
■ Work closely with the Wellness Director (WD) and Center Dentist(s) to ensure the previously listed services are provided to job corps trainees.
■ Collect data and prepare reports as required by the Center Director and/or the Department of Labor
■ Cooperate with Corporate and Regional Office Center .
Assessments
■ Maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of all required oral health
and wellness records when they are in the subcontractor’s
presence
■ Provide support to the students in acquiring the oral health-related skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will make them employable.
■ Promote opportunities for the students to practice the skills that will
help make them employable
